Some Scenes From The Office...

I'm am the nerd that (literally) loves nothing more than getting a peek inside a person's house/workspace/closet. In the off chance that you also enjoy these types of things (friends, I know you do, admit it...), I thought you *might* like to see a few snaps of my desk at the new gig.

When I left my old job, I bequeathed almost everything from my office to co-workers, friends, strangers on the street... I really wanted my surroundings to embody the fact that I was starting a new chapter in my work life -- all fresh and shiny and new (a lot to expect from office decor, I realize).

And I have to say, I love my new little space. Despite the fact that all the editors sit in a wide-open bullpen set-up, it feels oddly cozy; it inspires productivity (always a good thing at work; and there's a kickin' coffee maker just around the corner, which, really, might be the best part of all.

I have to say, I didn't even realize that it was a cubicle-like space until you mention the everyone sitting in a bull pen.

You've made a very chic, comfortable, and warm space. Managing to put heart into a grey box is quite the accomplishment!

I think it's important to have a work space you love even when that space isn't at home. Your space is lovely! I noticed that you have Bellocq tea on your desk. May I recommend that you also try Pureblend Tea, a Philly-suburb based company? (www.pureblendtea.com) Start with the Alice in Wonderland blend, and grab some matcha while you're at it. Trust me: you won't regret it!

I love that cold rock too! Yes, workspace means to much to a healthy day. And you can learn so much for the spaces people keep. xoxox http://lowtidehightide.blogspot.com/

I'm a nerd right along with you. I love—no, wait, that deserves all caps—LOVE getting peeks into people's spaces. Thank you for sharing it!

And woman, let me say, your taste is fab-u-lous. I bow to you.

PS I'm in the midst of that giving away old to transition to new thing too. It's odd and sometimes I get a little sentimental. But it's like a psychic cleansing. Next thing you know I'll be having some old hippy in here burning sage. ;)
