A Few Random Bits...

First up, the fact that the photo above (spotted via Emily Henderson*) is making me completely rethink my feelings about blue. Not earth-shattering or revolutionary news, I realize, but (despite owning four cobalt blue tops) I have never been that much into the blue when it comes to interiors. Never. And this room is sort of turning that upside down.

It always unnerves me a bit when that happens...

*it's possible I might have a wee bit of a girl crush on emily henderson...she's super creative + she's funny, which is a pretty rockin combo in my book.

Next up, all you DIYers out there need to enter this fantastic contest benefiting the incredible Dwell with Dignity -- an organization that furnishes and designs lovely living spaces for those in need.

The judges are great (think Jonathan Adler + my lovely and amazing friend Sam), there are excellent prizes, and it supports a wonderful cause (really the best part).

And finally, I had a chance to share a few of my fall favorites in the October FD Luxe. This was so fun to pull together. Thanks Kristie!

That Oh Joy wallpaper is beautiful. A bit Florence Broadhursty.

Isn't it funny how the colours you love to wear are so often not what you choose to decorate with. Makes no sense really.

Haha… thoughts about blue made me suddenly remember spray painting my dresser (when I was 14) a terrible, bright blue (think Greece Flag and super shiny). I just loved it for the first few years, I thought it was so beachy and aquatic. Then when I got older and developed I hated it. It is now in the depth of my mother’s basement conveniently close to the furnace.

There is something about that room! Can't quite put my finger on it. I think it's the combination of blue grasscloth, layered rugs, that amazing chair, the doubled up end tables and of course the screen. Ok - I guess everything in the room is working well! Looks fresh and very inspiring.
