Diana+

Up until now, I'd only used Polaroids for quick party shots or scavenger hunts with the kids but had been planning to experiment a bit more after seeing all the amazing pics out there.

Then I read the news via Ali that Polaroid is discontinuing instant film, and now of course I'm obsessed with finding an alternative way to achieve that Polaroid feel.

The Diana seems like a possibility. Has anyone used one of these? Thoughts?

I am undergoing the same process. I don't want to switch but fear I have to. I don't have a Diana but from what I've heard and read, they're lots of fun.

I might have to take a step in the same direction.

they ARE lots of fun!

no poloroid of course, but definitely an oldschool feel.

and Joslyn knowing your love of the blurry this might be a very cool camera for you to experiment with. Itsometimes does things to photos that you absolutely arn't expecting...(a special surprise after they are developed.) which is the artful beauty of it.

i think they are relatively inexpensive too.

I read on flickr that a Holga was a little better than a Diana, but the Diana appeals to me more for the oh, so superficial reason that I love that baby blue. I'm gonna get one or the other soon, I think. They are pretty cheap, so maybe both, ha. If you get one I'd love to hear if it works out for you.

I have been wanting one for months & kept talking myself out of it, but something changed my mind when I read this today & I just ordered one! (uh, plus the ring flash & a cute clutch that I saw while I was shopping - haha oops.)

I am completly addicted to polaroids, I just stocked up on film (and I'm sort of afraid to use it!)

As for the Diana+...I'm a Holga fan myself...my uncle got me hooked...he is really fabulous with toy cameras...
