After a work week of installs, crazy meetings, and lots of general creative madness/goodness (you can't have goodness without a smidge of madness, right?), the weekend was all about proving out how essential, lovely, restorative, powerful, and, well, fun some good, unadulterated girl time can be.

We kicked things off on Friday evening with an estrogen-fest (aka mother/daughter dinner) at my friend Sara's house, consisting of four mamas, eight girlies, five pizzas, several bottles of wine, and lots of giggling hijinks. Most refreshing, though, was that despite the fact that several of the littles had never met prior to that evening, they fell right into playing, and laughing, and just generally taking care of each other. It was girl power at its best.

The female bonding continued over Saturday dinner with Caitlin, Camille, and Erin at my casa, a Sunday girl lunch and shopping with Audrey and Caitlin, and a margarita and taco-fueled Monday evening with Caitlin, lovely cousin Erin, and my buddies Allison and Laura.

It's hard, what with the working and the parenting, and the general getting through life enterprise, to carve out time with your ladies. But, by some stroke of immeasurable luck, this weekend I managed to carve it out in spades.

I am a lucky girl. Full stop.
