An Anniversary and Some Unplugging

Today is Bryan's and my 11th anniversary. I am a lucky girl, friends...I really did marry the best guy. B is funny and kind and creative and wicked smart. He is a dream dad to those two girlies of ours and the best partner and friend. He is truly my love.

Happy anniversary B!

And...in honor of our anniversary, I'm going to partake in a little "unplugging" for the next few days. I realized last night, after a bout of supreme grumpiness directed toward my sweet hubby and girlies, that I'm a bit out of sorts of late. I'm distracted and burned out and generally feeling meh...and taking it out on the people of love most.

What does this have to do with "unplugging" you might be wondering?? Well oddly I find I tend to get this way when I'm online too much. There's something about getting caught in the vortex of non-stop blog and tumblr and pinterest consumption that can, from time-to-time, bring out my, well...not so best self. I fully acknowledged this at 11:00 pm last night when, instead of engaging in a conversation with my aforementioned stellar husband, I was "pinning" like a mad woman. It was a bad scene.

So for the next few days (right after I hit publish on this post in fact) I'm going cold turkey on the interwebs. In fact, my plan is to shut down my computer completely right after I finish my work day tomorrow.

Here's to coming back refreshed and kinder ;-)

Oh girl, this is the exact same thing that happens to me! Go take a time to feel the grass on your toes and spend time with your luvies!

Happy anniversary and enjoy the unplugging time. I love your honesty, and it's one of the reasons I like reading your posts. Regarding the constant stream of "stuff" - I think most people tend to feel that way too. Nice reminder!

Good for you. Enjoy.

It sounds like you married when I did - we just celebrated our eleventh anniversary on Sept. 23rd. What a great time of the year to get married.

I enjoy your blog - the photos are lovely and your girls remind me of mine.

Congrats to you both.

Happy Anny! Oh thank God, it's not just me. Sadly, it seems to be happening more than not lately. I need to work in some kind of regular unplug, I think. I hope you are having a truly fabulous refreshing time!
