Some Scenes From The Weekend...

There was actually quite a bit of activity this weekend...dinner with friends, lots and lots of packing (we moved into a hotel today for the week while our floors are being sanded and finished), some crafting in the form of mosaics with our friend Ava and necklace making inspired by this fantastic book, and a rather stellar (if I do say so myself) batch of brown butter chocolate chip cookies. But none of that mattered really, because any other occurrence this weekend was vastly overshadowed by the fact that, wait for it...

our. pool. is. done.

Yes, 'tis true, we are swimming. In our very own pool. I'm a little ashamed to admit this, but, upon jumping in with the girlies for the first time on Saturday afternoon, I may have declared to Bryan, "this is the best day of my life..." and then after a long pause, "besides marrying you and giving birth to the girls of course."

Shameful I know, but that pool is pretty freakin' awesome, I'm not going to lie.

congrats!

in the first picture, is that an extra large swim step so that you can lounge in the water, be cool, and enjoy an afternoon cocktail?

Stephanie -- yes, it's a big first step...they called it a tanning ledge. i think it might be my favorite part.

My gosh- it really is, (freakin awesome)!!!

Ours is a plastic paddling pool, haha. Yours reminded me rightaway of a pool I had the luck of being in in the Greek Islands, (minus the ruined columns which it had sitting at the bottom)...I thought you must be blogging from somewhere exotic till I read the post. Very much in awe:

As a local DFWer, my pool jealousy knows no bounds. It's so hot. I didn't think I could envy you more, but apparently it is possible. You're going to have a wonderful summer swimming with your fam!

Congrats on the pool. You will love it...my house is always the hang out place because of the pool. Awesome skinny dipping once the kids are asleep.. :)
Show pics of your patio area...because with your style, it's going to be amazing.
