Blogger's Favorites -- Michelle of Pretty Mommy

I am a (huge) fan of Michelle... She's funny and smart and interesting and stylish. She writes a fantastic blog. And I seriously want to raid both her closet (sartorially, she just gets it right) and her iPod (her hubby is a music critic, so she's always in the know on the best tunes).

There's also the matter of her spot-on, fantastic shop (I should note that Michelle's shop is one of my Simple Lovely sponsors, but I'd shop it regularly {and do} regardless.) It's good stuff, I'm telling you.

So I'm happy to kick-off the official start of our vacation (we leave today) with Michelle's list. And speaking of vacation, I'll be doing something a little different next week while we're away, so be sure to check it out on Monday!

So without further ado, herewith Michelle's favorites. Enjoy and have a fantastic weekend!

Backyard Movies - Our set up isn't quite this fantastic but we bought a mini projector a few years ago and I'm counting down the days til we can set it up in the backyard and watch a favorite film under the stars

Summer - I love waking up to the sound of lawnmowers humming, going to bed with cicadas chirping outside my window...and every hot, sticky, lazy moment in between...

Austin - my first love, the charmed land of tex-mex, bar-b-que, slackers and sunshine...hopefully someday we'll move back but until then I guess I'll have to settle for frequent visits to soak up those good Texas/hippie vibes

My Little Family - Soon (any day actually!) our cozy group of three will become four and if she's anything like her lovably sarcastic daddy or ridiculously snugly big sister then I can't wait to meet her...

Simple, well crafted things - the feel of hand carved wood like the gorgeous goodies at Herriott Grace or the weight of a ceramic mug from Heath...

Mexican Food - Is it possible to get intoxicated just by smelling limes, jalapenos, cilantro, and slow cooked meats? Throw in a good margarita and put a fork in me...

Vegetable Gardens - I'm no expert, heck, I'm not even very good at it, but few things give me as much satisfaction as planting seeds and watching as they grow into beautiful, edible delights...and the 3 1/2 year old who digs next to me for worms and eats the strawberries right off the plant makes it pretty dreamy...

Bakeries - any place where people wake up early to turn butter, flour and sugar into magic is tops in my book...show me a good pain au chocolat and I'll show you an empty plate...

The Sundress - my whole fashion philosophy wrapped up in one item of clothing - easy, breezy, pretty, not too fussy, not too precious, just a little bit of cotton perfection...long, short, simple, sweet, sexy - I'll take a closet full please! or at least this little Steven Alan number...
