Scenes from The Weekend

We had an utterly fantastic weekend...splendid, tremendous, packed with goodness right up to the wee hours of Sunday, and it's official friends. I'm old, or at least really, really tired (more on that later.)

We spent a good chunk of the weekend running errands and doing chores in anticipation of our upcoming beach vacation...(Oddly, errands and chores somehow manage to be fun when the payoff is eight days of sandy laziness, no?) But in between crossing items off the to-do list, we managed to squeeze in some pretty cool activities.

Saturday we met up with Christine and fam in Oak Cliff for the Urban Bazaar and "A Better Block", where the kiddos made paintings and fabric flags at Rock Paper Scissors, an incredibly inspiring pop-up art/craft space, and I proceeded to fall madly in love with Wigwam, another genius pop-up space that I'm hoping with every fiber of my being becomes permanent. It was perfection...

Other highlights included a lovely dinner on the patio with friends Saturday night and a play date Sunday afternoon, during which Audrey and her buddy Grace set up a little fort in the backyard (the weather was glorious, so there was lots of outdoor time) and didn't exclude Millie at all... Sweet girls.

Audrey, Millie, Miette and Amelie playing with their new creations...

The lovely ladies of Wigwam...

And then to cap things off we went to dinner at Bolsa (my favorite restaurant in town) Sunday evening with our friends Julie and Tim and then (wait for it), we went to see Vampire Weekend...Bryan surprised me with tickets earlier in the week, and I was literally counting down the minutes until the show last night. It was fantastic, and late, thus my grogginess today and the fact that yes, friends I think I might be old. There you have it.

I hope your weekend was lovely! Happy Monday.

I couldn't resist snapping a pic with my blackberry at the concert...total fangirl. sad...

Not sad at all. Sometimes it's worth it to get a little (or a lot) tired. What an awesome weekend!

I saw that block party/Make thing on a blog, totally jealous that you went. Heard you had fun last night! Is that where your hubby dreamed up the playlist idea? I've been laughing all day! See you soon!

You put my weekend to shame (filled orders all weekend)! My favorite thing was the shirt Audrey was wearing in the photo of the 4 girls. The tanish with flowers. I would LOVE one in my size!

Sounds like a wonderful weekend. The better block party was pretty cool, wasn't it? And yes, the clever art ladies behind Wigwam should, without a single doubt, set up shop for real somewhere. Genius, and beautiful, too. Miss you all.
