Blogger's Favorites -- Catherine of Rikshaw Design + A Giveaway!

So, you already know of my fondness for Rikshaw Design... Their bedding (and now fun kiddo clothing) manages to feel sweet and boho but still sophisticated and interesting. Not an easy (or common) feat with children's lines. I'd happily outfit the girlies rooms with their bedding... and wouldn't mind it in my room either!

The lovely and talented Catherine Fitzsimmons is the creative force behind all of this...+ she has a fantastic blog where you can check in on her daily inspirations. Not only has Catherine kindly agreed to share her favorites with us this week (and they are awfully lovely), but she's also offering a little giveaway...the super sweet turquoise seahorse kurta below. (The winner picks the size -- 6mo,12mo, or 24mo.)

Just leave a comment on this post by next Friday, March 26th and I'll pick a lucky winner at random!

So without further ado, herewith Catherine's favorites. Enjoy and have a splendid weekend (we have some fun surprise adventures planned for the girlies! I'll be back with details and photos on Monday...)

thanks for having me on your lovely blog..its a daily read for me and i am honored!
my favorites for you...in no particular order

jumby, my snuggly fat yellow lab...she is my child , literally...i tuck her in at night, kiss her way too many times a day, she rules the roost, my best friend.

warm weather by the water, preferably at a beach that you can see goes on for miles..love those beaches in the southeast..and smelling like suntan lotion! image via here...

my everyday cup of tea..i actually get excited to get up and start brewing my tea and go straight to read blogs and get inspired for the day! my tea of choice is Mighty Leaf Orange Dulce..2 cups (large ones) a day! (image via here)

elephants- in the past few years i have grown to adore them..a great photograph of them & i have incorporated them in some of the rikshaw designs..they are so sweet to me.(image from we heart it)

cupcakes- they are just this darling little feminine treat to indulge in. I stop in mos cupcake bakeries and usually go for a coconut one or a key lime with buttercream frosting..yum

feminine style- there is nothing edgy or modern about me, it just doesn't work on me..i love dresses, tights, a braid or special twist in the hair, an extra ruffle on the bag or shoe, and a feathery skirt is pretty fab too! i adore images that are feminine…they inspire me to get out of my jeans. (top image via souvenirs of a girl, bottom image via this is glamorous)

movies- its a family tradition, my entire family are big movie goers..nothing like a movie that will make you cry & laugh like sex and the city but don't get me wrong i love a good corrupt government movie like syriana...and thoughtful films like - Up in the air, away we go, garden state..i could go on and on.

and

music- i choose music to play everyday off my computer when i work..i love all brands..it just depends the mood! & live music is a slight obsession.

the South- its where my family lives and where i am from... countless memories from growing up on the river in the summertime to college in the deep south of alabama..(image via we heart it)

Catherine's description of tea in the mornings is simply charming! I typically find myself unwinding with my cup of tea at the end of the day, but now I'm inclined to try it in the mornings too. And of course, the obligatory dainty teacup shall be used.

Thanks so much for sharing!

Any girl who knows how lovely it is to live in Alabama is pretty cool by me... But as a native of Auburn, Alabama, I may be a teeny weeny bit biased. :)

Catherine has captured my heart! Her elephants have inspired the nursery I'm working on... I've purchased some items off her Taj collection as well as a pair of bloomers & a matching hat... can't wait to take a picture of my little one decked out in her Rikshaw attire. I also read her blog everyday- should have know she grew up in the south, I knew she had the soul of a Southern Belle!

I can't let my daughter see that elephant picture, or she'll wonder why she can't hug the elephants at the zoo! That's her favorite part.
Tea is my segue into my work day. Coffee is for getting up and going, then when I get to work I switch to tea - my settling in and making progress drink. I think I'd better have another cuppa right now!
