Things I Bought Thursdays...

Franco Albini ottoman in David Netto's home photo by Francois Halard for Vogue

During the aforementioned antique shop trolling in Louisiana last weekend, I scored an awesome, awesome find...

I think.

I've wanted a Franco Albini rattan ottoman forever but either A. couldn't find one or B. found one and couldn't afford it.

Well I found one (above), and it was, wait for it, a whopping $45.00. So I of course snatched it up!

But I'm thinking it has to be too good to be true, right? Surely a knock-off?? Here's the problem, I've done loads of Internet research and can't find anything about how to judge it's authenticity.

Either way, I love it, but I'd still love your insight... Anyone a Franco Albini expert?

Lovely find, I say get it!

It's indistinguisable from the one in the magazine so I'd say you found a real deal. :)

Can you really sit on it though?

I can't believe it cost $45. I am jealous. Even if it is a knock off, I say don't worry about it, just enjoy it!

Hmmm. I have an Albini in my living room and yours looks EXACTLY the same. I don't know how you verify its authenticity either, but it sure seems legit to me!

Congrats on a great score! It's such a fantastic piece.
