Scenes from The Week-End -- The Ranch

lovely cousin kristin

The Weekend trip to our cousin's ranch was a great success. There was a new (unexpected) calf, swimming, campfire s'mores, cooking, playing games and just general comradrie...

Between Bryan and his two cousins, there are eight kids (seven girls and one boy). Our girls are the youngest, and the rest range between twelve and twenty. These are some amazinginly excellent teenagers -- funny, interesting, kind... no petulance whatsover. They're all genuine, highly individual, confident and witty and a true pleasure to hang out with.

I took all sorts of parenting notes ;-)

Hope your weekend was delightful!

I love meeting kids that inspire, especially those rare teenagers that seem to break the mold. And, despite this confounded heat, your photos make Texas seem like a pretty cool place to be.

Wow! Were those MY kids you were describing? No way! Although it did sound like 9 kids at the time, I'm pretty sure it was only 8. We had a great time with you as well! Always a summer highlight.
