The Weekend…

Was filled with all sorts of quintessential summer holiday fun… there were swim parties, a graduation celebration and multiple cookouts (I think I actually ate three hamburgers… sad, but one was dressed with blue cheese, yellow tomatoes and arugula, so that elevates things a bit, no?)

Saturday morning we made a particularly successful trip to the farmer's market (i.e. lots of yummy finds + no kiddos melting down), which lead to a lunch cobbled together from all our goodies…fresh pasta topped with squash and zucchini and a salad of arugula (I’m pretty nuts for arugula) cherries, goat cheese and a port wine vinaigrette.

How was your holiday weekend? Did you eat as much as I did?

Boy, did I! Although I'm kind of having some food envy after reading about your farmer's market trip. Isn't arugula the best?

Glad you had a wonderful weekend! ;)

that salad sounds delish! Haven't ever used cherries.

We had a weekend of being guests instead of entertaining which was wonderful. So thankful for that. I tried a Whole Foods buffalo-with-blue-cheese-burger. It was delicious.

What a lovely image! In lieu of barbecuing and sunbathing on the beach, I was busy settling into my new apartment, which consisted of watching my boyfriend put up shelves (he's so handy!) and sorting through/getting rid of old clothes (it's so cathartic!). We did find time to hang out with some dear friends of ours and their adorable two-year-old son. It was a pretty great, relaxing weekend all around.

Three hamburgers is not too many! We actually missed out and didn't have any BBQ this weekend, and now I feel sad. I'll make up for it this week.
