Friday Morning Paper

Images via Fisk & Fern

In a classic "Mars vs. Venus" moment, the very thing that sold my husband on our house was the one that almost made me walk away from it. Are you ready?

A 180 gallon, built-in, saltwater aquarium. Yes, it's true.

At the time, all I saw was some 80's bachelor pad relic not the Wes Andersonesque showpiece it has become. It is literally mesmerizing and groovy and cool, and gosh I can't believe there was a time that I didn't want that thing...

So this week my Friday Morning Paper is a sort of ode to the aquarium. These two screenprinted moleskin journals by Fisk & Fern come pretty darn close to being as lovely as our saltwater monstrosity.

Love the journals. Especially because they say "Bolivia" and not something like "Paris." I love Paris, but Bolivia is cool and unexpected.
Also, I am jealous of your aquarium. C would be jealous too. Is it hard to keep clean?

ali-- honestly it's pretty easy...it's a coral reef aquarium, so it's sort of self cleaning. Every few weeks someone comes and helps add new stuff to it to balance things out and then it just sort of does its thing...

these journals are fantastic. We have some great pieces in shop at the shiny squirrel. Hand silk screened planners and cards!
