A Single Scene From The Weekend And My New Blog Obsession

As weekend photos go, there, well, were none. This was largely due to the fact that a bulk of the weekend was spent nursing a cold and embarking on a quest to have the world's most organized pantry (kidding...sort of), neither of which are especially photo worthy. I did, however, snap the three shots above, mid-pantry scrub down. (What can I say, I'm a sucker for a good cluster of clear glass.)

Some details on the pantry clean out (because I know you're just dying for the deets). I took out every. single. thing. -- all the canned goods, all the boxed goods, the pasta, the nuts, the random candies, the baking supplies, the oils and vinegars, the vases and bowls... the whole enchilada. I threw away anything expired, that we really shouldn't be eating, or just generally dubious. I washed the walls, mopped the floor, ran the aforementioned vases and bowls through the dishwasher, and cleaned all my glass containers. And then I (very neatly) put everything back in. The end result is pretty impressive, I'm not gonna lie. When you open the door and peek in, you might even be able to hear, ever so slightly, angels singing the hallelujah chorus...

Maybe.

The impetus for this pantry craziness, you ask (besides a raging case of OCD )? Enter Jenni Kayne. Actually, enter me reading about Jenni Kayne's insanely, beautifully organized pantry in the January issue of Martha Stewart Living and then promptly visiting Jenni's blog Rip + Tan where I proceeded to spend two full hours ogling all the other supremely lovely (and yes, insanely, beautifully organized) aspects her life (of which I have included just a few examples below).

Jenni Kayne. You are my hero. Full stop.

Go forth and visit Rip + Tan. It will make you want to reorganize your pantry stat. Mark my words.
