Scenes from The Woodland Fairy Weekend...

Millie's party with all its glitter and garland and sparkle and wee fairies running about was just the sort of joyous mayhem we needed to offset the intensity of the previous days...

The girlies had a blast making fairy huts, playing "pin the tail on the squirrel" and stuffing themselves with little chocolate stars and mini-cupcakes and rock candy and other assorted sugar-laden goodness. Suffice to say, it was a day filled with happy makers.

But the very best part came midway through the festivities when Millie looked up at me, grabbed my cheeks and breathlessly yelled "thank you for my beautiful party".

That was, for sure, the ultimate happy maker.

The five snaps above were taken by our friend Russ Aman to capture a little of the calm before the storm.

I believe that is the best birthday party I've ever seen. My daughter's birthday party this year will be in Paris and still won't be as cool as this one. I need you to start a party planning business and then come over to Paris with us. Would you?

Happy Birthday to Millie. :) Looks like the party was amazing! How cool that Millie took time to tell you how special it was. That is hard to do when you are little and enjoying a party so much!

The hair garlands! The rock candy! The tiny little cupcake toppers! That BRANCH. So insanely gorgeous and magical. Thanks for sharing these beautiful inspirations. Last year I "borrowed" your tree stumps as platforms with moss & animals for my youngest's cowgirl themed party and I'm certain that elements of this party will also be snatched up down the road. Many, many thanks!

Oh my goodness! I am very content with having two boys, but every once in a while I become envious of those with girls. I must say that seeing these pictures makes me a tad jealous :) Lovely party and such a sweet little one to recognize all the hard work and time you put into it.
