Blogger's Favorites -- Sarah of Whoorl

images via whoorl

I was peeking through my archives a while back and landed on my very first "blogger's favorites" post... After marveling at the fact that I've been doing this series for over three years (clearly I'm a fan of a good voyeuristic peek into what other people love), I immediately thought it would be fun to re-visit some of my earliest featured ladies.

Sarah was an obvious choice to kick off the endeavor. I first encountered her on a bus in route to a party at a blogging conference several years ago. An immediate girl crush ensued. Sarah is just one of those incredibly magnetic ladies you instantly want to befriend. She's warm and smart and stylish and insanely funny (for me, funny always seals the deal). Never mind that she's also incredibly stylish, beyond lovely and sports the best hair on the Internet. I still have a girl crush on her. Can you tell?

Over the years, we've become online friends...kindreds even. Among other things, we're both staunch "morning people" and share mutual obsessions with stripes, a good chunky necklace (and a good Clare Viver bag) and red lipstick (although she rocks hers with a bit more confidence than I do). Suffice it to say, I am lucky to have this lady in my life.

So without further ado, herewith Sarah's favorites part deux. Enjoy and have a fantastic weekend friends... (We're gearing up for Audrey's Nutcracker extravaganza starting tonight and some holiday decorating around the Taylor household.)

Morning - I am a morning person through and through. I love waking before the sun comes up and getting a head start on the day. Whether it be exercising, meeting deadlines or writing, I feel my most productive during the hours of 6-8am. Love love love the morning.

A wrist full of gold - I don't know if it's a personal rebellion after years and years of wearing nothing on my arms (not even a watch!), but lately, nothing makes me more giddy than my chunky gold watch and lots of bangles. (I think it's the clinking. I love the clinking.)

A lovely weekend bag - It took me 37 years, but I finally purchased a beautiful leather weekend bag. It was one of those purchases that seemed too decadent to me...I figured my black, beat-up canvas carry on would get me through just fine, but you know what? Life's too short. I adore my weekend bag, and it inspires me to take more weekend trips!

My bedtime ritual - Just as I adore waking up and diving into the day, I revel in utter relaxation in the evenings. I love reading stacks of books to my little ones, and while my husband bathes and tucks them into their beds, I immediately slip into my pajamas, apply my favorite lip balm and hand cream, and hop into bed. Whether reading a great novel, flipping through a new magazine, or playing a quick game of Words With Friends with my mom, I adore doing it all in the comfort of my bed.

Object and Totem Necklace - This is yet ANOTHER item that I spotted on Joslyn's blog and just had to have. (Isn't her blog just chock full of goodness? Honestly, of all the blogs I read, this one inspires me to purchase items that I truly adore. Of course, I'm conducting my spending very MINDFULLY.) The necklace is such a unique piece that draws compliments from so many people.

My workspace - Living in coastal Southern California, space is a precious commodity, and I'm pretty sure we won't be living in a home with a dedicated "office" room EVER. After spending way too many hours working on random sofas, chairs and beds, my husband created a little nook in our bedroom as my workspace. It's the perfect little spot - right by a sunny window and surrounded by my inspiration boards. It's my happy place!

The perfect red lipstick - NARS Flamenco. This sheer, buildable, strawberry red is the perfect red for day and night. Y'all, heed my words...you won't be sorry!

Thanks, Joslyn, for having me (again)!

I've been wearing Nars Flamenco all the time since I bought it a few weeks ago (probably saw it mentioned on Whoorl before?) It really does look good on all skin tones since my coloring is nothing like hers! Love the whole list.
