Some Scenes From The Weekend...

I feel like I've (finally) sussed out the formula for a restorative weekend. Of course, as with most things that seem to take me forever to decode, most of these discoveries fall into the "totally obvious" category, but given my tendency to come out of the weekend feeling frazzled of late, they feel somehow revolutionary to me.

Here goes:

One part sharing a meal with inspiring friends + one part spending as much time as possible outside + one totally and completely lazy morning...

That's pretty much how the weekend played out, and friends, it was all sorts of goodness.

It's true that on any given weekend we might have the good fortune of partaking in one of the above activities...but there's something about the trifecta of inspiring conversation, an abundance of fresh air and at least one wide-open, coffee-fueled morning that seems to net the maximum restorative powers.

I also think there's something to the fact that all three of those things tend to be the antithesis of our super harried, totally structured work weeks spent (sadly) largely indoors. I think it's probably this feeling of "departure from the norm" that makes the weekend the re-charge period that it's supposed to be... At least that's what I'm going with!

Some scenes of the girlies enjoying a safari party on Saturday to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hermès in Dallas. My dear friend Cristy works there and invited us to the event... I have to say it was pretty fantastic!

Sometimes those "total obvious" solutions are tricky to put your finger on...but it can be life-changing when you figure them out. Glad you had a great weekend!

Sounds perfect! My problem always seems to be that I have to use at least one full day on the weekend to get things done (laundry, groceries, etc). Need to find a way to work those chores into the week more effectively.

I love a lazy morning at the weekend especially after the frantic rush that occurs in my house to get everyone out the door on time during the school week. The party looked amazing!!

Oh man, I think you need to ask your friend where they got those awesome horse balloons!!! I did a quick online search and couldn't come up with a source.
