On Art and Architecture...

Box art by Dolan Geiman. We bought a piece from him at the Bucktown Arts Fest last year. Not only is he incredibly talented, but he’s also a delightful person.

The Bucktown Arts Fest is this week. Receiving the e-mail about it a few days ago made me think about our trip to Chicago to visit our friends Steve and Carlise this time last year . It was our first time in the city and the last big family trip we made before becoming a family of four.

We fell in love with Chicago and spent our few days there exploring the amazing public parks, visiting the huge and free Lincoln Park Zoo, wandering around Bucktown and Wicker Park and checking out the Frank Lloyd Wright studio in Oak Park.

But the hands down highlight was the serendipitous moment when we were strolling through the Oak Park farmer’s market on Saturday morning and stumbled onto an impromptu “pickin circle” playing Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine show, which was (and still is) Audrey’s favorite song. She was convinced they were playing it just for her, and we absolutely let her believe it.

Hi Josyln,

Thanks so much for featuring Dolan and his box art. Visit our site again in the near future as we are launching a new line of work in the box art family.

I just checked out your photos at sfgirlbybay. What an amazing home! When time permits, you should send us a photo of Dolan's work in your home for our Flickr group, Dolan Geiman Collector's Circle.

Have a lovely weekend,
Ali Walsh
