This weekend was a good mix... equal parts fun, productivity and some much-needed "forced laziness."
We hit up Oak Cliff on Friday for dinner at Bolsa with our buddies Lucia and Pete and then a visit to the (amazing) Wigwam pop-up shop in the space next to Oil and Cotton (it's only around for the month of April, so definitely plan on stopping by...)
Saturday morning, I started to worry that we were sliding into "overscheduled" territory again, so I cancelled all our commitments (including our collective ballet classes, which was a big deal given how much we're all digging ballet right now) and let the girls laze around for the better part of the morning. I futzed around the house doing little projects (which is oddly highly relaxing) all-day and then spruced up a bit for a little date night with hubby. It was a good and much needed day for sure.
Then on Sunday we went to what was quite possibly the cutest, most well-executed birthday party of all-time. Our little friend Dotty turned one, and her mom and day (the geniuses behind Bows and Arrows) threw her a perfect French-themed fĂȘte complete with a performance by a mime. It was utterly awesome.
Hope your weekend was fantastic friends!
What a beautiful weekend. The photos are stunning and that tamales cart is so cute. Bliss.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend! As a fellow over-committer on weekends, I'm inspired to hear you are following through on some down time. It really is the best time, just hard to do!
ReplyDeleteI always adore seeing your weekend review!
ReplyDeleteYay for cancelling as needed! I have the hardest time with paring down activities, even when I'm truly getting desperate for some rest/downtime.
ReplyDeletesuch lovely photos... what a nice weekend... I am in the mood to cancel things too... Sunday came and I felt like it was more intense then a work week... I need to tattoo 'slow down' some place visible. ox!
