Scenes from The Week-End -- Birthday Edition

Today is my birthday, and the week-end was a great lead up to the big day. (I love birthdays... mine, other people's...love them all.)

We bought our tree, cranked up the carols and spent the weekend getting the house all dressed for the holidays. Then on Saturday, Audrey and I and a few friends went to brunch and then to a performance of the Nutcracker at the gorgeous Winspear Opera House. And (thanks to my lovely and amazing friend Lori) the girls got a full backstage tour after the performance. Needless to say, Audrey and her buddies were thrilled beyond belief... they even got to try on the rat king's head. They were over the moon for sure.

We finished up the weekend with dinner on Sunday with Lovely Cousin Erin (who's birthday is also this week) and boyfriend Ben, which featured some seriously amazing friend green tomatoes...

Tonight we're headed to see The Fantastic Mr. Fox (my birthday request), and I can't wait. It looks so great.

    My mother and her sister used to take my cousin and me to see the Nutcracker Ballet every year! I still cherish those memories today!! What a great day for Audrey!
