Susannah Conway's gorgeous photo from Frankie magazines photo book...Every once in a while I feel compelled to confess my secret love of pink (the last time was about a year and a half ago in case you're keeping track...) I don't know why it feels so shameful to harbor a secret adoration for the fair color, but well... it does.
I don't wear pink or use it to decorate, no, instead I fully channel my love for it through the girlies who love it in ways that I can't even begin to compete with, so they're an easy foil. I do fear that Audrey's starting to fail me a bit, as a week or so ago she declared her bedroom might be a bit...too pink. As if.
Millie on the other hand is still firmly on board...my little "Pinkalicious" (thank goodness.) Last night we went for some celebratory gelato (Audrey had a good day at school), and she insisted on a scoop of the most girlie, pepto pink flavor possible -- bubble gum (yuck.) I tried to convince her this wasn't a good idea, but she persisted and then proceeded to play with her gelato while pilfering bites of our (not as pretty but far tastier) chocolate.
So there you have it, a long intro to a whole slew of pink things I'm currently loving... Enjoy.
The cover of the new Frankie Magazine Photo Book...Can't wait to see the rest!
Dwell Studio's pink kissed pillow -- I especially love pink when it's tempered with a dark moody color... (via all modern)
Linda and Harriet's chandelier cards...
Maxine Sutton's miracle kits... I'm going to get a set of these to embroider with Audrey, so cool and clever and something she could tackle...
This groovy alternative to a mobile... (via all modern)

I love all the pink in the pictures!
ReplyDeleteO.k. I need that print and that pillow. I love pink (always have, always will). That photo of Millie with her grandfather is really wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya - I don't wear pink or have it around the home, but I do love it in little details. Wonderful pic of your little one with her grandfather :)
ReplyDeletenice picks. My favorite...the miracle kits. very cool!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I share the same shameful love. I think it's just so sweet and flattering. I don't wear it, but I take full advantage of Valentine's day and embrace card making.

ReplyDeletei'm right there with you...i think pink is such a lovely way to feel girly and pretty, but i rarely wear it! this post may have changed that...
ReplyDeleteYay for pink foils! My eye is always drawn to pink too, but I look pretty bad in it. Luckily my Matilda doesn't.
ReplyDeletereally enjoying your blog! i grew up in a pink room--pink walls, pink bed, pink dollhouse, pink curtains, the works--because it was my favorite girlhood color, obviously. and then for years and years--repressed! no pink! and finally, now, i've embraced it again! i heart pink! have you seen, "funny face"? the audrey hepburn movie from the 50's? well, the opening song is called "think pink"--i recommend! it's amazing for pink lovers...
ReplyDeleteOh I adore Pink! Light, blush pink is my favorite! I was on cloud 9 the moment I knew I was having a girl - my pink kharma was good to me.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE PINK!! Within 5 minutes of meeting me, you'd know I love pink. Not because I wear it, but b/c it's always around me. Water bottles, staples, pens, stickers, nails, makeup bags, folders, notebooks, picture frames... Oh and I also have a hot pink wall in my apartment. :) Yay pink!! This is why I MUST have daughters...
ReplyDeleteLife is too short. If you like pink this much then wear it, decorate with it, use it. Why not? Heck, do a pink skunk stripe in your hair.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pink moment: Gwen Stefani's wedding dress.
Ah....so lovely. All of these pink picks are so very lovely...and you know what? I adore pink, wear it, decorate with it, embrace it! There! I said it! :)

ReplyDeleteoh, I love this post! I've always been a purple gal, myself---but as of late, I've found myself drawn to the pinky pinks. I have such a similar photo that I took outside of my studio in Portland to the first photo you posted...in fact, upon first glance, I thought it was mine.
ReplyDeletethere is no shame...
ReplyDeleteOne day, I decided to paint my studio in a soft, but still pink, pink. Bad idea. That was the end of my love fir that color!
